How Saturn In Leo Planetary Transit Reinforced Occult Lessons

The most difficult planetary transit that I’ve ever experienced in my lifetime so far was Saturn in Leo in my 2nd house. This transit occurred during a time when I was pursuing a career in Electronic music as a Singer and Producer. While I had considered myself at the time to be quite knowledgeable about astrology, this transit, or shall I say, Saturn, taught me just how little I knew and how much I needed to learn.

So let’s dissect Saturn ‘s effects while focusing only on the important chunks. Saturn, as we know it, is a planet that governs limitations, restrictions, long term lessons, conservation, and balance. Saturn is like a stern parent that teaches us that we should view what we do today should compound to engender future success. It forces us to learn, and receive a working knowledge of, the concepts of evolution, gradualism, and systems.

Even though we can all agree that these concepts are a wise approach to life, Saturn’s way of teaching those who aren’t naturally comfortable with this approach can be viewed as unyielding and malefic, making you bear witness that Saturn indeed is not a taskmaster, but “The Taskmaster.”

Lovers of astrology and those who think the planets can do no wrong, will,  with crooked smiles, tell you that Saturn prefers that you operate within its’ guidelines in order to see any progress, and yes, I concur. However, this can be quite frustrating if you are the type who likes to go with your own flow or has created a system of perfect chaos that has been working for you until this transit. While Saturn does like systems, it favors those that are based in structure, not freestyling. Saturn wants you to earn your money, not expect windfalls. Some might say Saturn wants to turn you into an authority figure or leader of a cause or idea, expecting you take on more responsibility, while developing patience and thoroughness. Saturnian transits can turn you into a builder who will have something to show for their blood, sweat, and tears —-but only if you abide by its rules. Don’t get me wrong, this type of development is helpful, but only if you are already adaptable, not set in your ways and already possess the ability to “ see the forest through the trees.” Otherwise, if you are a free spirit who has relied on your inner power to manifest, or simply earn or attract the things you wanted in life, you will feel as if you have acquired an evil stepparent who never liked children and can’t wait to make your life a living hell.

Let’s move on to what happens when Saturn meets Leo. Leo is known for traits like love of  the spotlight, leadership, fierceness, confidence, and charisma. We can see how the blending off these two sets of qualities of Saturn and Leo should be a positive transit, as together they can create a compatible influence. I agree that the Saturn in Leo transit would be more complimentary than the previous Saturn in Pisces transit of 2024-2026 because Saturn’s influences do not clash with Leo’s governing traits. Unlike a Saturn transit through Pisces who governs dreams, emotions, artistry, moods, and empathy, which can be instantaneously be viewed to be a combative and contentious transit at the offset. If you live in the United States, just recall Trump’s candidacy in which you saw heightened emotion, the restriction of food necessities, continuous unrelenting pushback and fighting over dreams and ideals, and so on.
Saturn in Pisces mark throughout politics the last two years had too many events to name, but at least you can go online and rewatch them and match them up in real time.

So how did the seemingly congruent Saturn in Leo transit cause problems to arise in my life? Simple, The transit passed through my 2nd house, which is the primary money house.

The 2nd house governs your primary income (your steady paycheck on the 1st & 15th),  values, security, and speech. This meant during this transit (with Leo already my foundational influence) what I believe has value, what makes me feel secure (money, housing, emotions), speech (the power or influence my voice has), and not to forget the flow of income. As a natal Saturn in Leo in the 2nd house, which is what is called a “Saturn Return,” (with your first Saturn return happens between the ages of 27-30,) this event is meant to mature you and teach you quarter point lessons, and mature me it did!

So the real questions are :
1) How did my Saturn in Leo transit ( Saturn return) affect me?
While I produced and completed an entire album, I had significant voice problems and could not vocalize to my full potential. You could say my voice was constricted. While I worked day and night with promotions and marketing, even building a website at the time, it was a lot of work with very little reward.
During this time, work was very difficult to find so I was relegated to living with relatives as I couldn’t afford to live on my own. The only work I found during the influence were gig jobs in promotional modeling. When the transit ended, I went back to structured work in Sales.

2) What was my Saturn return transit trying to teach me in 2007?
Saturn taught me the art of hard work and that rewards, or an income, is not promised no matter how hard you work under this influence.  Saturn is more focused on teaching you lessons of how you should cultivate a long term endeavor as opposed to rewarding you the fruits of your labor.

Those who have difficulty yet remain employed during Saturn transiting through a money house (depending on the house it transits through) are usually on the verge of leaving, quitting, or getting fired from a job, I’ve learned. If they hold on to the job, they stayed as a whipping board and took a lot of blows. This may or may not apply to self employed people because they control their workplace, however they may still find financial doors that were once opened suddenly locked.

My Saturn Return in Saturn in Leo matured me as an Occultist as it reinforced the lesson that there is a cyclical nature embedded in all things, and those lessons, for an Occultist should be mastered. As humans, we seem to think that seasons are only for the weather, that processes exist only in machines and math, and that sciences are only to be used in the workplace or school. However, the very planetary system that we exist within not only affects earth energetically but seeks to help us grow to our fullest potential as earthlings.

Not to mention, within their guidance are lessons that the true elite have learned, mastered, and apply everyday to get the most out of their lives, while those of us who remain ignorant or fearsome of planetary assistance are doomed to repeat our obvious mistakes and failures. In the age of Aquarius, knowledge is abundant therefore the choice is ours to learn, study, and evolve.
